Practical Task Days and Events

There are lots of jobs to do on Lamberhurst's Common Land to make it the best habitat for wildlife and keep it open for access.

If you are interested in helping out please email Nicola Rendall-Jones on

Gravel Pit Volunteers 2012

The Heritage Lottery Funding enabled us to buy tools for the 'Friends of Lamberhurst' groups to continue the work started with the project. The kit has everything the Friends need for simple tasks such as keeping the paths open and creating glades.

It only takes a few tasks a year to keep your green spaces wonderful for wildlife, with access for all. Here are some of the things you could be helping with;

  • Bat detective walk
  • Flower & butterfly survey
  • Clearing brambles from the Wooded Common
  • Thinning smaller trees
  • Pond dipping
  • Newt surveying
  • Cutting back waterside vegetation
  • Keeping paths open
