Village Playground Appeal

Caroline Bromley and Scooby Doo open the New Playground

WE'VE DONE IT - well done to everyone who has contributed to the funding of our fabulous new playground. We opened it on 21st July on a glorious day and seeing the playground full of children and families was fantastic.

Thanks to the Court Lodge Open day and the bike rides we have raised over £5,000 more towards our target meaning that we have £3,500 to go. Enormous thanks go to Heather and Ian Dyke at Court Lodge and the team that helped make it such a special afternoon.

Furthermore a special mention to the Dolce Vita who generously sponsored Edmund Hastie £1,000 to cycle round Bewl Water.

On June 28th a shared lunch was enjoyed by all, we had some fantastic food and lovely company and raised £200 towards the Playground.

The Brownies have been busy and had a celebrity evening that raised £100 and the Pantomine Society ran a raffle at their Peter Pan performance that raised a further £200 for the Playground.

Woodland Butchers, Marshalls Tree Services, Victoria Stores, The Trout, The Vineyard, The Chequers and many other local businesses have contributed some fantastic prizes to our raffle - tickets will be on sale from mid-July.

Our final fundraising event was a Summer's Evening at Bewl and for those of you who went it was a fabulous evening overlooking Bewl. We ate, drank and danced the night away and the Auction raised a staggering £12,000 - where do we begin with the thank yous - it was incredible.

So now its open, please come and bring your children/grandchildren/friends down to play, have a picnic and enjoy it.
